The cruelty to animals.

Today I'd like to talk about a problem that exists nowadays: the cruelty to animals.

Most people are not aware of everything that millions and millions of animals around the world are suffering.

There are people who cause harm and suffering to animals. They aren't always people who hurt their own pets like dogs or cats, sometimes it's also for traditions or scientific investigations, for example the cockfighting, or the Spanish-style bullfighting (corridas de toros).

In meat production and in the obtention of fur also implites suffering. In laboratories, they require smoking monkeys and rabbits until they die of lung cancer, for example, or they put makeup and cosmetics to rabbits in the eye until the eye ulcers. Only in USA, 64,000,000 of these animals die annually in medical experiments. I think that circuses are also a sign of cruelty: animals live in very poor conditions, they live a half of their lives locked in cages, and in fact they are wild animals. And all this things are just to make a show to satisfy the yearning for greatness of people.

As everybody knows, animals can feel pain and anguish, and, unlike humans, animals cannot suppress their feelings. We live in a society that mistreats animals for fun. I think we have no right to manipulate the lives of other animals. I think animal rights should be more recognized. Well, that's all for today, I'll write more soon.

My Weekend!

Hi guyS!
Today I will tell you a little summary of my last Friday, that it was different because we didn’t go to school and because it was sunny!
Well, on the morning, at eleven o’clock approximately, I get up and I went with my friends to tell between ourselves everything that we did in these week.
Later, everybody went to their houses because was the lunch’s hour. At half past three, Marius, Jordi, Oriol, Baldiri, Iñaki and I, met on the Baldiri's house because we would like to use the weather well and so, we decided to go to the beach. First, Baldiri and Oriol went to the supermarket to buy something to eat and drink and in the meantime the rest went to the beach and we tried a good site, where there was a net to play volleyball. When we went there, we started playing football and later we went to the volleyball net and we played here. Afterwards some Germans came with us and we were playing a match; the score final was bad for us, because we losed for one point,...When the sun stopped to shine we went to a pub called Capitan's and we were staying there and speaking to. Finally, we took our motorbikes and went to Baldiri's house and we played football and basketball.

Barça vs Chelsea!

The first of two champions league semifinal matches was played yesterday between Barcelona and Chelsea, Chelsea achieved what very few teams have been able to do which is to hold the best team in Europe to a 0-0 draw. It has been a year since Barcelona have drawn 0=0 at home, the last time it happened was against Manchester United in the same stage of the championship.
Both teams had very good chanses , but a key element to this game that left it goalless was the top goalkeeping, the two top class goalkeepers Chech and Victor Valdes made very important saves that kept there teams in the draw.

The chelsea team made a good efort but now they have all the work to do, any scoring draw nat Stamford bridge will mean that the blues will be out og the tournament. Eto ,the barcelona striker, said that hes sure that if Chelsea play like they did they will surley lose.

During the match Barcelona held most of the possession, similar to there matches against Bayern and Lyon, but Chelseas defence prevailed even thought in the last round they let in 5 goals against Liverpool.

"They had a lot of possession but we stayed very tight," Terry said. "We watched videos before the game, they like to play little balls through and we knew that and stopped them doing it.".

Chelsea and Barcelona have met in four of the last five champions league competitions.

Pep Guardiola felt cheated he said that it was unfail when a team is trying to play creativly while the other team plays defence.

Liverpool!

Spanish Red!

Today, I want to talk abaut my favourite team of football in England, with the Premier League, this fabulous team is Liverpool.

First of all, in this team there are many players that before played in the Spanish league, besides this team has a coach from Spain who is called Rafa Benítez. It is for this reason that they call them for the Liverpool "Spanish red". This team at present is one of the best of all Europeand it's very competitive.

This team is very well tactic and physically aspects, it is characterizet by having a great force and power and this causes a great tiredness in the competitor this is the style of his game, this style is very different to the Spanish style, but the English style is more practical. They also have a very good fans, they always screen, call grinds and animate to their team, they sing a very famous song, "You'll never walk alone".

The best players that this team has is Gerrard the capitan and Fernando Torres who score a lot of goals.

Camp Nou

Hi, today I’m going to tell you about the Camp Nou.

Camp Nou is the name of the Barcelona Stadium; it was inaugurated on the 24th of September in 1957 for la Mercè which is the feast of Barcelona.
First the stadium capacity for 93.053 people and now it capacity for 98.787 people. It is the biggest stadium after Maracanà (Brazil).
Now there is a project on the table to renovate the Camp Nou. If the project is passed the new Camp Nou will become a very big and spectacular job.
The architect who led this project is Norman Foster, the same man who led the new “Wembley” stadium in London.

I hope that this project will be past soon.

Pepe Rubianes

Hello, today I’m going to write about Pepe Rubianes, because he died recently for a cancer of lung, he was an excellent actor and director of Spanish theatre. He made everybody laugh, and his best characteristic was the use of bad language. Pepe was very critical about Spanish politicians, sometimes made some controversial declaration about them, for example one day he said: “It blows my dick, the Spanish Unity”. He was originally from Galicia but since he was a child he had lived in Catalonia. He loved Catalonia and Catalonia loved him.
Rubianes had a lot of projects; he had traveled to Africa in many times and helped people from there.
For the last few years he performed the same show “Rubianes solamente” but he also did a show with four African women and others shows.

He will be sadly missed because as I said before Rubianes loved Catalonia and Catalonia love him.

Whisky

Whisky is, of course, very popular in Britain and in the whole world, and it is, undoubtedly, the national drink of Scotland. The only problem is that spirits are very expensive and whisky is the favourite of the spirits they sell alcoholic drinks for only nine hours a day, so, if you want to go to a pub and have a drink, make sure it is between 11:00 in the morning and 3:00 in the afternoon or from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. If you are in London, the “closing time” is 11:00 p.m. A lot of people think that these drinking laws are absurd.

You find pups everywhere, people usually stand at the counter while they drink or play darts, but you sill not find them playing cards or singing normal pubs.

English Meals.

An Englishman usually has three meals a day: Breakfast (at about 7 a.m.), lunch (at about noon) and dinner (at about 7 p.m.)

An English breakfast consists of boiled eggs, bacon or sausages, and tea. Sometimes they have corn-flakes with milk and sugar, and toast and marmalade.

Lunch is usually a light meal. Sometimes it consists of some slices, of boiled or roasted meat and salad. Pudding, ice-cream, cake and fruit are very popular desserts.
In general, English people do not eat big meals.

Chelsea

Chelsea is one of the London boroughs and apart from being well known for its football team, it is also because of one of its streets, King’s Road. This is a very popular meeting place for young people, particularly for those who wear eccentric and colourful clothes. In the sixties the miniskirt was created in King’s Road.

Nowadays it is the headquarters of the punk movement.
There you can see those young people with black clothes, heavy chains and colourful hair.
